Our latest customer survey of Zopa members found that joint financial decision-making is now the norm for UK couples, challenging traditional gender stereotypes surrounding household financial duties.
64% of couples said that financial decisions, such as loans, credit cards and mortgages, were the result of joint decision-making and 38% said the duty of filling in application forms was split between male and female members of the household.
The same collaborative approach was in evidence across all other major household purchases, with even presents for children being a joint decision for 57% of couples.
